This is a fairly heavily constructed item, made of aluminum. It is heavily painted (on the exterior, in most places), with silver paint, which is almost zinc looking.

I am disappointed by more than four things.
1. The gasket that the glass seals against is slightly large on its O.D. and does not readily sit on the flat surface. It may be sealing or it may not.
2. The paint finish is mostly on the exterior surfaces. The interior surface just received overspray and that's it. The guard, or protective cage, is what I am concerned about because it is not well-painted on the inside and may corrode near saltwater.
3. There is sharp flash left on the cage. This was just painted over.
4. I paid A LOT MORE for this than the China import versions. Three times as much! Some are selling for five and six times as much. I have now compared it to the $25 Chinese version and there is no comparison. The US part is superior in quality and is UL listed. However, QC is lacking. Finish quality could be better, but it looks very well-made and durable.

Lastly, it appears they were too cheap to include screws for mounting the fixture to the box that came with it, or was this a goof and they did not remember to include it?
