We built a pond and installed this pump about 18 months ago. I ordered 2, because I didn't believe one would make the 90 foot run and 18 ft rise to the pond, to the waterfall, and give us more than just a trickle of water. Was I ever wrong! One pump sits in the skimmer the other sits on the bottom of the pond. The bottom pump is rarely ever used. The 1hp Tidal Wave pump runs water from the skimmer in a 3" line approximately 90ft and rises 18ft where it dumps into a box that has a 3ft. wide opening (1st waterfall). This pump supplies enough water to go all the way across the 3ft wide spillway with a 2ft. drop into a stream which is approximately 2ft wide, down through a waterfall, an 8ft. pond, and another waterfall, on its way back to the main 25ft. pond. It runs 24/7 with exception of November to March, when we shut it down for winter, as the pond freezes. I would not hesitate to buy this pump again.
