Willow Picnic Basket - 823419 Review

We just took this basket to the Hollywood Bowl, and it worked well. We had plenty of room for a bottle of wine, two water bottles, all of our food, and ice in the insulated carrying compartment. I was surprised how easy it was to carry this large basket; it felt comfortable carrying it with the shoulder strap or the handle. I was also surprised by the quality of the dishes (not plastic). The silverware is decent, and the plastic wine glasses are functional, light, and not as delicate as glass.

I'm a little disappointed with some parts of the basket. I broke both zipper pull tabs in half on the first day of use! Also, the very first time I tried to remove the silverware from the holding area, the holding strap ripped loose. I fixed the strap with hot glue, and it worked fine. The zipper pulls are now paper clips. The zippers are still a little rough, but the paper clips should hold up.

It's unfortunate that you pay this much money and parts break before the first outing ends. I understand the price is driven by the cost of the willow and weaving it together; however, I'd expect the willow to be the weak point. In all, I'm happy with the purchase. It's amazingly comfortable to carry and you can carry a lot inside.
