I used to Love the bagged Miracle-Grow garden soil. I had created a raised bed garden and was so impressed at how well that soil made my plants grow....I decided to add some more raised beds and containers last year (2012) and I went to purchase more of this soil. Over the course of 3 weeks I purchased from Walmart, Lowe's and Marvin's and I was horrified to see a jungle of some kind of corn-looking plants that grew about 2-4 foot high and spread like wildfire. I am still trying to get rid of this stubborn weed. I am certain it came from the bagged soil because I put this product in many containers as well as the new beds, and every one of those containers as well as the new beds had this bully plant appearing...even my poor little potted lavender plant was strangled out but a think carpet of tall weeds, so thick that I lost sight of the lavender completely. I tried pulling the invaders out to no avail---worse than grass! I thought maybe it was a fluke and decided to try again but the same thing happened. I don't know what happed to this product. It used to be an awesome thing, but it has become such a disappointment and an extreme annoyance with all these weeds. I'm afraid to use it Ever again!
