These are really well made and solid. I put one on each side of our antique home's mudroom door and used a pair of bulbs from Home Depot and added a dimmer/switch combo (the type with a slider next to the switch so once you find a good brightness you can simply turn it on/off.

I had a hard time figuring out what kind of bulb they really took because of conflicting specs I found. I highly recommend the one I ended up with. With the pair of these at full brightness, there is a lot of light, but I found that they look fantastic, just like candles, at the lowest setting.
